residual biomass, waste-to-energy, energy production, gasification
We are currently looking for partners and/or already established consortia to participate in the call as a technology expert and/or provider, i.e. provide know-how in the design & development of new waste-to-energy systems and/or provide our own technology for pilot operations.
BIO2CHP PC was established in 2017 to spin-out of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, the research results and activities regarding the use of waste biomass for small-scale energy production. The company’s main purpose is to build on the results of the LIFE08 ENV GR 576 SMARt-CHP project, where a pilot-scale prototype proven the concept of using untreated solid organic residues for small-scale energy production, finalize the product development and introduce it to the market. All rights related to the prototype constitute the background IP of the company, while today the team has managed to receive interest and commitment from various market and industry stakeholders, is closing its first seed round of financing, and finalizing its first pilot unit, which will be installed at the facilities of a winery in Greece to utilize grape marc and stalks to produce heat and power, on-site.
