My group has expertise in metabolic analysis and plant physiology. We can provide a platform for metabolomics in order to rationalize and standardize the harvest, storage and analysis of different plant samples, rendering all the data comparable and integrable. We can also contribute to the interpretation and integration of data.
We can perform quantitative analyses of primary amino acids by HPLC with fluorescent detection according to Carillo et al. (2008); proline by a colorimetric determination by using ninhydrin as described by Woodrow et al. (2017); ions and organic acids by ion-exchange chromatography with conductimetric detection (Carillo et al. 2011); soluble carbohydrates and starch by enzymatic assay coupled with oxidation-reduction reactions of pyridine nucleotides (Carillo et al. 2005); total and soluble proteins (Carillo, Mastrolonardo et al. 2008); tocopherols by HPLC according to a procedure described by Annunziata et al. (2012); phenols by LC-MS according to Pacifico et al. (2014). Enzymatic activities of carbon and nitrogen metabolism according to Woodrow et al. (2017).
